ISA has multiple committees that meet on a regular basis. Citizens who are interested in helping maintain and grow our historic downtown district are invited to join us by applying to help with a committee. Most of these committees have a standing monthly meeting. Following is a list of those committees, their missions and when they meet. Inquire at our offices (108 S. Liberty Street) or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Promotions Committee: Develops overall image for the area. This committee helps with retail promotions, special events, historic and cultural events sponsored by ISA. Annual events currently include Chocolate Walk, Harry’s Hop ‘n’ Hunt, Truman Day, Wine & Brew Walk, Doggie Date Night, Flea Fair on the Square, Square Table, Ghouls Night Out, Square Lighting, and Living Windows to name a few. This group also helps with general brochures and outreach activities that promote our historic district. Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the ISA office. A subcommitte (Marketing Committee) meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the ISA office.
Economic Vitality Committee: This committee helps with business retention activities, business recruitment, marketing surveys, and demographic studies. They help develop a competitive direction for our downtown. Meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 2:30 pm at the Chamber of Commerce.
Design Committee: This group looks at public spaces, streetscapes, sidewalks, and parking. They coordinate with city officials to give them a perspective of area building owners, business owners and residents when decisions are made that may affect the design/infrastructure of the area. They may look at creating facade programs, public art recommendations and wayfinding signage that impacts the district. They also help with holiday lighting and other enhancements that impact tourists, patrons and residents that pass through our historic downtown. Meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm at Ophelia’s Restaurant.
