Woodstock Inn was first built as the residence of Morris Short and family in the 1890’s. Called Old Westport Road at the time, this road most surely saw the wagon trains that left Independence with all of the excited faces of westward pioneers headed onto the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. It’s just a short walk from the historic Independence Square, Truman Home, Community of Christ headquarters and close to many other area attractions.
The Inn’s guestrooms and the French Riviera luxury honeymoon suite all have a large assortment of amenities catering to leisure guests seeking a romantic stay, Kansas City metro area corporate guests needing a business retreat, sports enthusiasts attending a game at Truman Sports Complex, music lovers going to the Sprint Center or Silverstein Center for a concert, or guests wanting to experience all the Independence history.
